(also available in Spanish).  Class Duration:  Minimum Three (3) Hours

This interactive, dynamic seminar is designed to inform employees about California and federal employment laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and others.

The protected classes are discussed at length with the goal of prevention in mind: race, color, ancestry, religion, national origin, age, sex (same sex sexual harassment, sexual harassment, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation), pregnancy, disability, veteran status and marital status. Preventing retaliation in the workplace will also be taught.

The high-energy approach is designed to engage all participants and to help them understand why compliance with the law is so important to a productive and pleasant workplace. Real life examples are used throughout the program.

This program will be customized to track the employer's own policies and reporting mechanisms.

This course will teach the participant how to:

· Recognize conduct that may be prohibited

· Understand the meaning of a zero tolerance policy

· Respect diversity in the workforce

· Report conduct that may be a violation of company policy including retaliation

Employees will learn the details of the company's policy including reporting harassment, discrimination or retaliation; how the company handles confidentiality; and the consequences for violating company policy.
